Top of the morning to you all! I don’t know about you but we are ready for some spring in 2K.
This month has some exciting things in store. On March 5, we have a field trip to CJ for their performance of Cinderella. The kids are excited to see the live show and compare it to the Cinderella Stories we have been reading this year. IOWAS are the week of March 11- 15th. Please make sure you do not schedule any appointments as they are very difficult to make up. Spring Pictures are March 7th! March 18th – 22nd is our summer birthday week! Aiden H. will celebrate on the 18th, Lucas G on the 19th, Addison K on the 20th, and Madison R on the 21st. Please email me if you have any questions!
Onto the school work!
Math: We will be finishing Chapter 10 and going back to Chapter 6 to finish up March. This will also conclude the Go! Math curriculum for the year! This means we will begin 3rd grade preparation.
Reading: The students will continue going to Ms. McKenna for reading.
Handwriting/Spelling: The students will begin spelling work again the first week of March. We have completed lowercase cursive and will begin uppercase letters. Please encourage your students to write in cursive at home.
Science: We have begun our unit on healthy eating. The students should be recording in their provided food journals everything they are eating. We will then analyze their choices and see how we can eat healthier. We will also be doing a class picnic day! The students will bring in food, and we will prepare a lunch in class. This is a great day for the kiddos. We will be creating menus during IOWA week and the picnic lunch will be March 22.
Social Studies: We will be learning about how the government works. Be ready for some school of rock songs!
Religion: We are continuing with our preparation for First Communion. Please keep a lookout for information about Jesus day etc.
I can’t believe it is already March. This has been such a fun year and this is a great class. I don’t want it to end! Please email me with any questions or concerns! Have a great March!
