Hello Everyone!
We had a cold start to the month! Glad to be back at school and getting into the swing of things!
A few dates to remember this month:
February will be a busy month!
In class we will be:
Math- Finishing Ch. 8 and Starting Ch. 9- These two chapters focus on measuring both in the metric unit and the standard unit. You can support this learning at home by having your child practice measuring things around the house with an inch ruler!
Religion- We are learning all about the Miracles of Jesus. The students have been split into groups and have chosen a miracle. They will then present this miracle to the class. They have already chosen their presentation methods. This will be a great way for them to practice working together and being creative while working on critical thinking skills. We will also continue prepping for our First Communion! It will be here before we know it!
Science/Health- We are currently learning about energy and forces. When we wrap up this unit, we will move on to our healthy eating unit. This includes a couple of class picnic lunches. These will happen during March. The kids always love to learn about how our bodies process food, and why we need to eat healthy. During the month of March they will not be allowed to eat unhealthy snack throughout the day!
Reading/Spelling- Ms. McKenna will continue working through the curriculum in the Journeys series. We will continue practicing our phoenix and grammar skills. Please keep checking the fire dragons and warrior pages for spelling skills!
As always feel free to contact me with any questions!
